The National Portrait Gallery doesn’t feel like the natural habitat of folk, but Faustus proved me wrong as they played surrounded by portraits of politicians involved in the Corn Laws. A cracking set and great repartee accompanied the first time I have seen them play acoustically - not a mic in sight. We were treated to over an hour’s worth of playing and the band certainly seemed to enjoying themselves. Another triumph for Faustus, and a new venue worth a look if any more folkies play there.
