Formed to carry on the good work of previous years by Dr Faustus. They were Tim Van Eyken, Benji Kirkpatrick, Robert Harbron and Paul Sartin and put out two records: The First Cut (Fellside 2003) and Wager (Fellside 2005).
Then at the Sidmouth Folk Festival 2005, the Anchor pub, Paul finds Saul and Benji enjoying a pint in the middle of a hot day. They have a meeting. Having played together for some ceilidh work as ’The Colonel Jenkins Memorial Band’ it is decided to take the trio on towards concerts. Since that meeting in Sidmouth, Faustus have established themselves as a major force on the English roots scene.
