Apart from Bellowhead Justin has been working since 1998 with ex-Fela and Femi Kuti keyboardist Dele Sosimi with whom as well as gigging extensively he has recorded, written for and produced three albums, two under the leader’s name and one for the Nigerian poet Ikwunga.

He has also been collaborating with the pianist and composer Kishon Khan since 1996 with such projects as the Afro-Latin Jazz group ‘The Bonobo Orchestra’, Cuban-Funk outfit ‘Motimba’ and more recently Kishon’s ‘Lokkhi Terra’ project, fusing Bangladeshi Folkloric music with Afrobeat and Cuban rhumba, as well as Justin’s own Afro-Jazz project.

As a session player he has worked predominantly on the African and Latin scenes with such musicians as Tony Allen, Tony Kofi, Bukky Leo, Inemo, Osvaldo Chacon, Roberto Pla and Manteca but has also worked with the Two-Tone/Ska band The Selector, 13-piece Funk outfit Mongoose, experimentel Dance/Funk group Fuzz Against Junk and Gideon and Pete’s North African/ Free Jazz/Funk group The Very Tiny Little Kids, to name a few.

Justin graduated in 1995 with a degree in Music and History. Since then as well as performing he has been teaching brass and running jazz groups at St Christopher School, Letchworth.

Justin has been a member of Bellowhead since in 2004.
