The third Kerfuffle album was recorded in 2005 when the band members were still in their teens. The opening "Intro" grabs your attention – as it is rather unexpected, but none the worse for that. A favourite track has to be Maggot, which if you have seen the band live, usually ends in a Mexican wave. Maggot is comprised of three tunes, one written by Hannah for Sam Sweeney’s 16th birthday, the second is a Playford tune and the third tune is the Cheshire Round. The whole is a very satisfying set of tunes.
Light Flight allows Hannah James to demonstrate her considerable vocal skills, with a playing which is faithful to the well known Pentangle version.
There are some lovely songs on this CD including Lark and Searching for Lambs, but The Willow is simply beautiful. This album shows heaps of promise with the hint of greater things to come. A favourite!
