Tim van Eyken has blazed an enviable trail since first coming to public awareness by winning the 1998 BBC Young Folk Award. He was soon snapped up by English traditional music’s best know band Waterson Carthy. It was an apprenticeship that served him well, and, with supergroup Dr Faustus, he was soon pushing at the boundaries of a new movement championing English folk music. He stepped back in to the spot-light in the newly invigorated scene with a brand new solo album Stiffs Lovers Holymen Theives and a summer of touring with an all star lineup (Nancy Kerr, Oliver Knight, Pete Flood, Colin Fletcher).
Four nominations at the 2007 BBC Folk Awards, winning the prestigious Best Traditional Song for "Barleycorn".
