Seth Lakeman was very good but played a bit too much from the new CD. As someone who has got all his current solo output I knew less than half of what was played, which is a bit brave for a festival crowd. I can’t argue with the foot-stomping nature of it all though, and he went down a storm.

I was a bit worried that I’d built up last September’s Bellowhead gig in my head and that seeing them again was going to be a bit of a let down. I took my position right in front of the stage all doubt was quickly banished as they opened with Prickle Eye Bush again I got swept along by the whole thing. The dance tunes are astonishingly infectious and after being less than overwhelmed about them on record I now think they are equal to the big song numbers in the set.

A few new ones including a new arrangement of Unclothed Nocturnal Manuscript Crisis from Benji’s 2nd CD. Another resounding triumph from one of the finest live acts around.
