A welcome return from The Witches of Elswick’s Fay Hield

Three years after The Witches of Elswick disbanded, this September sees the welcome return of Fay Hield with the release of her debut solo album Looking Glass.

Following her very well received debut solo performance at Oxford Folk Festival in 2009 and at Cheltenham Folk Festival earlier this year, Fay has a busy summer of festivals lined up, as well as a tour in the Autumn to promote her album.

As well as concentrating on her solo work, Fay is also a prime member of the All Star, the resident “scratch band” at Sheffield club Bright Phoebus (along with Martin Simpson, Jon Boden, Andy Cutting, Sam Sweeney and a host of other visiting folk luminaries), as well as running the Royal Traditions singers club with partner Jon Boden.
