Chiltern Ceilidhs in Bedfordshire relaunched with new youth team

Posted by Eleanor White on 05 February 2010

Chiltern Ceilidhs is a monthly ceilidh/barn dance held on the second Friday of the month in Dunstable, Bedfordshire. First appearing as part of Dunstable Music Festival in 2000, the dances soon became an independent series run by local musicians. After being handed over to a new youth team the ceilidhs were relaunched in September 2009, and will continue on the second Friday of every month (with a break for the summer).

Every month there’s a live band, a top caller and a friendly atmosphere. The venue, St Mary’s Social Centre provides a cheap bar and plenty of free parking.

The Spring 2010 series will be the start of a new ’residency’ for band and caller. We’re delighted to have Roger Watson joining us to call and play for January, Februrary and March - with the regular house band: Brian Heywood (guitar/bass), Tom Fairbairn (bass/keyboards), and Sam McEvoy (percussion kit).

Cost:
Adults £6
Concessions £4
Children (10 & under) FREE

Doors open 7.30pm, dancing starts at 8pm.
