O’Hooley and Tidow headline this November

Posted by Liz Osman 14 October 2010

Those lovely lasses O’Hooley and Tidow set out on their first headline tour this November, supported by up-and-coming singer Lucy Ward.

Belinda and Heidi will also be joined on the northern dates by Anna Esslemont (Uiscedwr) on fiddle. Having played for some tracks on O’Hooley and Tidow’s debut album ’Silent June’, the duo praise how Anna "manages to turn her violin into a string quartet".

Asked what we can expect on the November tour Belinda and Heidi are quick to mention chit chat as being as integral a part of a gig as their music, and are happy to adopt the description of "the Morcambe and Wise of chamber folk" coined by a journalist.

Tour dates are below, but for any Bright Young Folk near Hebden Bridge, there is also a special one-off show - Auntie Irene’s Bottom Drawer. The night will feature folk, punk, comedy and cabaret, all hosted by the mysterious Auntie Irene. Check it out on November 19th at the Trades Club.
