Rebirth of the Albion Band

Posted by Shelley Rainey 28 February 2012

The Albion Band are back, or rather have been reborn with a completely new line up. They have been brought together by founder Ashley Hutchings, around his son Blair Dunlop (vocals, guitars), Gavin Davenport (vocals, cittern, guitar, concertina), Katriona Gilmore (fiddle, mandolin, vocals), Tim Yates (bass, melodeon, vocals), Benjamin Trott (lead guitar) and Tom Wright (drums, vocals). However, Ashley is taking a back seat and letting the newbies get on with it. The plan is for them to develop their own material as well as reviving the Albion Band back catalogue.

After a triumphant first gig at Cheltenham Folk Festival in February, the band is now heading off on tour to promote their new album The Vice of the People. Fans of folk rock - check your diaries!
