We’re looking for new volunteers!

Posted by Christopher Friedenthal on 12 May 2010

Bright Young Folk is run by six core volunteers and various helpers, all of whom work very hard behind the scenes to bring you the website you see today. We’ve been growing steadily over the last two years and now have more high-quality stuff coming in than we have time to give the attention it deserves.

So, we’re after new volunteers to join our merry band. Can you do any or all of the following?...

  • Review CDs & gigs
  • Keep an eye on the local scene
  • Write blogs
  • Keep gig listings and biographies up to date
  • Help with interviews
We have a slightly London-centric view of the folk scene because most of us live in the south half of England. So we’re particularly after people in Wales, Scotland and Éire. Cara Dillon and Kate Rusby experts would also be very welcome. (We’re not going to turn anyone away because they live in England, though.)

If this sounds interesting, please get in touch. If you’re a writer please submit a review on the site (so we have a sample of your work) and let us know which one is yours.

Being able to respond to emails promptly and review things to deadline are, however, musts.
