Posted by Christopher on 13 March 2009

Thanks to Navigator Records we have 5 copies of Lau’s excellent forthcoming CD, Arc Light, to give away.

The cover of the new CD, pictured here, sees Lau hard at work. Post your suggestions as to what they are building in the comments below and the five most amusing responses will win a copy of the CD. For those that don’t win, Arc Light will be released on March 30th as a CD, download and vinyl.

Lines close at midnight on 26th March 2009. Only open to UK addresses, sorry.

They are building a LAUdspeaker for their next tour. What is a LAUdspeaker you may ask? Will it bang out luscious sounds at LAUd levels? Of course! But there is more to it than that, and the clue is in the meaning of the word Lau, as in ’natural light’. Now what produces natural light? A star of course. And a star is really just a very, very, very large nuclear fusion reactor. So the LAUdspeaker is actually their under the radar bid for world domination both in music and in solving climate change. Yes, they are building a combi sound emitting device cum nuclear fusion reactor. Canny folk these Scots....

concerned about their ever-increasing carbon footprint, Lau have decided to adapt their tourbus. The anvil will be handy for spare horse shoes as they go back to folk roots, travelling by horse-drawn caravan. Just don’t get stuck behind them on the M6!
