The Metropolitan Police Male Voice choir. They do a rousing version of HMS Pinafore.

The Bay City Rollers. Their song ’Shang-A-Lang was one of the defining moments of 70’s music. Who could fail to be moved by this :

Well we sang shang-a-lang as we ran with the gang
doin doo wop be dooby do ay
we were all in the news
with our blue suede shoes
and our dancin the night away.

Pure poetry.

Favorite boyband of all time has to be the Beatles....great songs, personalities and some of them weren’t bad looking.

I can’t remember their names and I never actually heard them: I’ve only read about them in the gospels of Matthew, John, Paul, George and Ringo.

Something something and the 12 disciples, I think.

(Don’t quote me on that - I haven’t been paying attention and don’t have my spectacles to hand).

The band inspired generations of musicians including the Singing Nun, Elvis Priestly and Three Daft Monks.

Hang on - I’ve just remembered the name!

KC and the Sunshine Band.

That’s the Way (huh-huh, huh-huh) I Like it.

SHOW OF HANDS

They’re boys (!), they’re a band, and they are my favourites. So - Show of Hands = favourite boy band! Simple!

The Folkestone Boys School Chamber Choir. Much more applicable than all the man bands mentioned so far.

Led Zep were a great bunch of boys
Who knew how to make a fine noise
Their Whole Lotta Love
Was inspired from above
And brought an abundance of joys.

Easy!

Bros - Matt & Luke Goss and their mate Reg. ’When Will I Be Famous’ was a cracker. It went down rapidly from there.

It has to be Sun Records’ Million Dollar Quartet young Elvis, Johnny. Jerry Lee and Carl - where would popular music be with without ’em?

Sorry guys, but has to be the Osmonds. They can sing, dance, play their instruments and write some of their own songs (and were good looking enough too)

Yes, I know they were cheesy - but I saw them in 1972 when I was a girl and again in 2008. I was no longer a girl and they were certainly not boys any more but - they swept back the years and made me feel like a teenager again. Pure magic!
