The retreat started on March 13th 2009, and there was a concert première in the Theatre Severn, Shrewsbury on March 19th 2009. The concert was recorded for an upcoming CD release, and the artists performed again with great success at the Shrewsbury Folk Festival at the end of August 2009.

Several of the Darwin Song Project songs were also released in 2010 on studio albums by the artists involved in the project. Chris Wood’s ’Handmade Life’ contains a new arrangement of ’Turtle Soup’. Krista Detor’s ’Chocolate Paper Suites’ features new recordings of ’Emma’s Lullaby’ (with Chris Wood on fiddle) and ’From Miss Emma Brawley’ (with Mark Erelli providing vocals and guitar) as well as the original project recording of ’Clock of the World’.

Finally, Mark Erelli has recorded ’Kingdom Come’ and ’Mother of Mysteries’ for his new disc ’Little Vigils’
