Before releasing his solo album, Kris had been part of scottish trio Fine Friday (with Nuala Kennedy on flute and whistles and fiddler Anna-Wendy Stevenson), who produced 2 albums before splitting to concentrate on solo work; and Session A9.
Kris worked in several duos, including touring with singer Heidi Talbot, and has also produced an album with banjo player Eamonn Coyne (’Honk Toot Suite’ in 2007).
Many of you will be familiar with Kris’s work with Lau (with fiddler Aidan O’Rourke and accordianist Martin Green) - they have already released 3 albums since 2005 (’Lightweights & Gentlemen’, ’Live’ and ’Arc Light’) and won 2 BBC folk awards for Best Group (in 2008 & 2009).
