Spiers & Boden discography

Vagabond is a great mix of toe tappingly good songs. Captain Ward and The Rain It Rains are two of my favourite tracks on the album. But its hard to pick a favourite track when all the others are equally catchy (even Mary Anne...which I find a little slow for my tastes).

The more I listen to the tracks the more I like them, a stark contrast to how I usually am with music. It is definitely the album I would show my friends and family to convert them to the folk side.

Vagabond is the best album from Spiers & Boden yet, in my opinion. For me, the stand-out tracks are ’Tom Padget’ and new favourite at their live appearances ’Captain Ward’, for sheer energy, wit and verve, and ’Mary Anne’ for touching charm with a dash of bitters.

Spiers & Boden know their music, love the tradition, and have renewed my interest in it. I’m delighted to have discovered them, and am making up for lost time as rapidly as I can!
